Respiratory
The deanery are becoming quite strict on what courses they will approve study budget for, and have defined them as being either essential or desirable. For respiratory the list currently includes:
- Advanced life support (ALS) – essential
- BTS short courses including lung transplantation, pulmonary hypertension, radiology for chest physicians, and preparing for the respiratory SCE
- Respiratory physiology course
- UK thoracoscopy and pleural disease course
- EBUS course
- Interventional bronchoscopy course
- Bronchoscopy introductory course
- Cystic fibrosis course
- Safe sedation course

Wessex
Information on a variety of courses run by Wessex Deanery can be found on the Intrepid website.
BTS meetings and ERS conferences
BTS runs a meeting twice a year. The Summer meeting is held in the North – 2025 and 2026 will be in Manchester. The Winter meeting is held in London in late November.
The ERS conference is usually a hybrid event and runs once a year.
